An electronic cigarette or E-cigarette is a nicotine device which resemble a cigarette, cigar or pipe, but does not require tobacco. The complete electronic cigarette consists of a battery, an atomizer, and a cartridge containing nicotine, water and propylene glycol. By using the battery to make electronic heat, the atomizer device vaporizes the liquid nicotine within the cartridge into an inhalable mist. The CEO of Ruyan Holding and also the inventor, Hok Lik is one of a few who hold worldwide patents for electronic cigarettes. However, the Ruyan Company sells the e-cigarette's product licenses to various trading companies and small independent dealers. The purchaser of the license may place their own logo on the e-cigarette, making it seem like there are many different electronic cigarette products. ShenZhen Jaunty Electronic & Technology Development Co. Ltd hold a patent for a "Mouth sucking type household ultrasonic atomization therapeutic device" which they use to manufacture the e-cigarette and sell the Jaunty Electronic cigarette's license to other dealers, who renames and sells them as another e-cigarette device.
